Model OP-1

Oceanphonics Hydrophone with commercial grade kevlar reinforced cable. The surface interface box provides RCA plugs to the Line-Input of your stereo audio system; also contains an isolation audio transformer to eliminate ship electrical noise.

Strength member terminated in a soft eye to fasten to your vessel. 10 feet of audio cable from soft eye to audio and power connections*.

This model has two MODES:

1. Long Distance HIGH GAIN with Automatic Gain Control and

2. Short Distance LOW GAIN with NO Automatic Gain Control.

The first mode is used to listen to creatures at a distance with no powered boats operating in the area. The second is used when other powered boats are close by. A contact at the surface end of the cable sets the MODE.

In addition to the plugs connecting to your ship board stereo amplifier system, a red wire connects to the stereo 12 Volt positive source. This supplies a low current bias to the hydrophone active electronics.

Model OP-1 with Option -9V

This model presents amplified sound to headphones. The hand-held case has a 9 volt battery holder, switch/volume control and plug for a headphone (headphone not included.) This allows for standalone use of the hydrophone for one person.

A small splash proof Pelican case contains a battery holder for 8 AA alkaline cells and a Bluetooth transmitter.

Transmission to TWO Bluetooth headphones or loudspeaker after pairing. (Headphones or loudspeaker not included.)

Up to 100 Feet Bluetooth Range.

Rework UPGRADE of Model OP-1 to Option -BT


An existing Model OP-1 Hydrophone may be returned by a customer to our factory for UPGRADE to the model -BT Bluetooth.

This procedure will add:

A small splash proof Pelican case contains a battery holder for 8 AA alkaline cells and a Bluetooth transmitter.

Transmission to TWO Bluetooth headphones or loudspeaker after pairing. (Headphones or loudspeaker not included.)

Replacement cable for OP-1 hydrophone

We realize that accidents happen and a cable may be cut.  This cable may be replaced at the factory.

An existing Model OP-1 Hydrophone may be returned by a customer to our factory for CABLE REPLACEMENT for ANY model.
